Connection
“Human connection is an energy exchange between people who are paying attention to one another.
It has the power to deepen the moment, inspire change, and build trust.”
Connection. Connection. Connection.
It’s my reason for doing just about everything.
It’s my why.
It’s my how.
It’s my when,
what,
who,
and where, too.
As I sit here in one of the most sacred and beautiful places in the world (to me), I cannot help but consider the reason I arrived here in the first place: connection. I first traveled to Bacalar, Mexico, to connect more fully with myself and create a retreat that was unique to my journey and method of healing.
Well, I got way more than I bargained for. I came HOME to myself, all of myself. I met the truest version of myself and the healer within me began to soar.
I am here again, now, discovering even more about the truth of who I am and how I can serve more. It all continues to circle back to one word: connection.
Connection is the reason I get out of bed in the morning.
To meet new versions of myself and others. To witness the human spirit in divine action.
To meet new versions of myself and others.
To witness the human spirit in divine action.
To witness God in one of her many forms.
It’s also why I do the work I do. To connect and to be of service to something higher, something truly divine. I meet God every day I work with people.
It’s nearly unexplainable.
How it feels when it happens, when I truly connect with another: soul to soul.
It feels like love, awe, gratitude, understanding, knowing, truth, honor, depth, oneness, and an all-encompassing timelessness wrapped in one moment.
It’s God.
I’ve searched for the words to describe what I feel/learn/experience while offering a treatment, class, or retreat and I realized something recently: I speak another language. That’s why it’s hard to describe in English. I am thinking in two languages and translating them both simultaneously.
If you’ve ever read The Alchemist, then you know the author speaks of, “the language of the world,” and, “the soul of the world”. Those words make more sense to me in this context than any that have come before.
I resonate with and speak “the language of the world”: the language of the divine-human body, the language of intuition, and a language we all equally have access to. It’s the most beautiful, humbling, and heartfelt experience of my life (so far). And I get to do it for my job.
I’m crying again, lol.
Truth tears are the best tears.
Brene Brown said in an interview once that, “A deep sense of love and belonging is an irresistible need of all people. We are biologically, cognitively, physically, and spiritually wired to love, to be loved, and to belong. When those needs are not met, we don’t function as we were meant to.”
So, basically, I’m writing this to say THANK YOU.
Thank you.
To my clients, students, friends, and family — past, present, and future.
Thank you for being in my life.
Thank you for teaching me.
Thank you for allowing me to be of service.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to connect and experience God on a daily basis.
